If you want a great burger, this is the place! Cooked to perfection and just the right amount of bun to burger ratio. The steak sandwich is also on point, but I always go back to the burger! They have a few other sandwiches, which are probably good too, but again...the burger! It's worth paying a little more to get quality meat, so expect to pay more than your standard burger joint.

Had a job near this restaurant and decided to pop in for a quick bite. I did not know this spot was famous through Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. I always wanted to go to one of those places, and I got lucky to come to one without knowing. The person behind the counter was extremely friendly. I assume he is the owner. There is a wide range of selection on the menu that can satisfy any of your cravings, however the owner recommended a few items to us. The most appealing of the suggestions to me was the brisket sandwich. It came with a hefty portion of protein. The brisket is seasoned with mustard on the beef, tho... you don't taste the mustard. The fries are top tier fries. Order those as a side is a must. My friend ordered the cheesesteak sandwich, and he said it was great. It came out piping hot, so you know it's fresh. Another friend ordered the pulled pork, and it was devoured within minutes. That speaks to how good it is. The chef also told us that the pulled pork was made in a 24 hour process, which tells you that the flavor is binded into the soul of each bite of the meat rather than just a sauce they pour on. I was really impressed by their hot sauce. I didn't get the name of it, but the bottle looked like it was Oakland owned or maybe it was their own hot sauce. Food came out within minutes. A really solid spot in North Oakland.

This is a review solely about their Meatball Sub. They must've changed Chefs? Bc it didn't taste like this 3 years ago. The one I had tonight is a fucking banger. . Get it.
